Community Update
RPySOC 2025 is a wrap!!
What a wonderful couple of days that was! Roughly 100 people joined us in person in the fabulous Wellcome Trust building in central London for a smorgasbord of fascinating talks, stimulating chat, networking, swag-grabbing and eating delicious food🥰. We also hosted around 400 people online across both days - kudos to the AV team for handling that! Thank you so much to all the helpers, committee, venue teams, speakers and attendees for helping us make the event so warm and inviting. It served not only to reaffirm that we all find these events personally and professionally valuable, but also as a call to arms: there’s lots of work to be done and we need YOU to play a part in our future!
Job 1: if you attended the conference in person or online, please complete the conference feedback form!
We will add the recordings of the sessions to our YouTube channel as soon as they are ready. Meanwhile, the slides for most of the talks are held in this open repository for you to take a look at.

New Beginnings
📢This is the LAST EVER NHS-R Newsletter! (*probably)📢
It was officially announced at the conference, that as of now, NHS-R and NHS.pycom are officially merged under the new name of
✨NHS-Open Analytics (NHS-OA)🚀
We are now moving into a phase of centralising our resources and planning how we move forward. For a time, we will continue to use the NHS-R and NHS.pycom infrastructure (such as our email address nhs.rcommunity@nhs.net). Can you spare us a little of your time and expertise to help us? If you’d like to be involved, we’re always happy to chat with you about what you could offer. Catch us on Slack, email us at nhs.rcommunity@nhs.net, message us on LinkedIn or create issues on our open GitHub repositories! We’re looking for people with any relevant skills, for example:
Coding
Teaching
Design
Social Media
Leadership
Blogging
If you would like to become a member of the NHS-Open Analytics Committee, please register your interest via this short form.
Events 2025

Please be advised that attendance at workshops is restricted to employees of the NHS, public sector, civil service, voluntary sector, charities and academia only. However, note that it is very rare for webinar attendance to be restricted unless requested by the host. Conferencing events are open to everyone.

Do you have an interesting piece of code/work you would like to share with the NHS-R Community? Would you like help with some code you are currently working on? Is there an opportunity for collaboration that you would like to share? We would love to hear from you at our Coffee and Coding session!
To sign-up for the Coffee and Coding sessions, please visit the NHS-R Community website.
If you have code, a piece of work or project and/or an opportunity for collaboration that you would like to discuss, please contact us via the NHS-R Community inbox (nhs.rcommunity@nhs.net).

Volunteers!
We are seeking volunteers to host/co-host webinars and/or workshops throughout the year. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your knowledge and skills whilst building a community of practice for data analysis and data science using open-source software. It also counts towards your evidence for application for Fellow status!
If you would like to volunteer, please email the NHS-R Community inbox (nhs.rcommunity@nhs.net) or sign-up via the volunteer form posted on the NHS-R Community Slack.
If you would like to recommend someone within your network to contact, please email the NHS-R Community inbox or drop us a message via LinkedIn.
Please note that additional information regarding the NHS-R Community, workshops and webinars can be found on the NHS-R Community website and NHS-R Community Way book.

R package hexSticker Gallery we used the package for 4 stickers and added them to the readme Gallery (it’s alphabetical in order)
_brand.yml we have shared our brand guidelines in the Posit Gallery which can be used for reports, apps, dashboards and plots in Quarto, R and Python. We use the NHS England colours and hopefully the code should be clear enough to update the code for other nation’s colours and logos too.
